Giving Tuesday started many years ago as an international movement to create a day of giving to charity just before the Christmas season. Giving Tuesday is always the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and this year, Giving Tuesday is Dec. 3.
Parent Promise would appreciate your support on Giving Tuesday. Your donations to Parent Promise help support evidence-based home visitation programs that help families get on the proper track in learning how to parent and interact with their children and provide their children a loving, safe and nurturing environment. We also help parents connect with additional resources they may need.
Many of the parents we work with experienced trauma as children. These experiences, unfortunately, can impact these parents as they grow into adulthood. Often, our families have experienced generational cycles of dysfunction. The parents we work with want to provide the best home environment for their children – they just need help and support.
The average enrollment in our program is 18-24 months; however, some families stay with us for several years. Of all the families who enroll in our program, 95 percent of these families NEVER go into the DHS child welfare system.
